Whispers from Zion - "Available"
"I hear you call, I am available
I say Yes Lord, I am available"
Extract from the lyrics of the song "Available" by Elevation worship.
. . . .
I love the song "Available" by Elevation worship so much, but I'm always watchful when I sing the song. It's one of those songs that really brings me to my knees, making me escape my fears & insecurity and ready to give all of me to Jesus.
I try to listen very intently to the lyrics for the first 2 minutes of the song and make sure that when I'm singing
"I say Yes Lord, I am available", I really mean it.
Especially considering the fact that recently, I've been so keen on finishing the university just so I can start being a floor member of any fellowship or gathering of believers I decide to be part of(because there's no escape route at the moment in the university).
So when I played this song today, I thought about the contradiction between my "plans" and the lyrics of the song.
It left me with a decision to make, if to be available for God or to be adamant on making my after university life a season of "Rest"
As if there is anything like rest apart from Christ.
I'm being so honest about this because there's probably someone, I mean, alot of people out there in the same state as me.
. . . .
Next time you play "Available", you want to do a heart check and make sure you're really available.
I'm sure Jonah thought himself to be Available until the Lord asked him to go to Nineveh.
Moses could have sang this same song but when God would have him lead the Israelites out of Egypt, he probably said "God abeg"
I'm not saying "stop singing this song", but allow the Lord convict you so you can mean what you're singing.
I don't know about you, but it can be scary sometimes, the things you're opening yourself up to when you say "I'm available" but I know that "anything in God's control can never go out of control..."
All my love
Jem💖
