ADVICE TO MY YOUNGER SELF
If I could give 18 year old me a dating tip. Lol.
I'll start with a scripture that best describes the advice:
But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things - Luke 10:41
Just change that Martha to Jem. Lol
I would say to 18 year old Jemima-
"Jem Jem, you are anxious and troubled about many things"
Because this was what I was like.
You might as well have put 'anxiety' as my middle name.
In hindsight, I definitely would tell myself to calm down and get rid of fear and pessimism.(my last post tells you why pessimism isn't healthy, Click Here to read)
I'd remind my younger self that God was intentional about me and that I should learn to trust God more with my Life.
I did say that I trusted God but I was always desperately trying to figure things out on my own.
Thankfully, I did this by reading books and consuming all the content I could on dating (which is not in bad ofcourse) but motivated partly by fear (of not wanting to let someone's son ruin my life)😄
Side note- I had figured out that the "e" in my name stood for "emotional" so I had to guard my heart with fear and trembling. Lol
I really needed to calm down and trust God.
I over thought and over analysized anything and I was probably becoming unhealthily committed to having all the answers so I could have you would call a "perfect relationship"
Again, I thank God for all I learnt by being that rigorous and deliberate about my dating life but still I would tell 18 year old Jemima that even though she reads a million and one book, she may never really completely figure out how relationships work but to be anxious for nothing because God would be with her all through her relationship walk so long as she remained in God's will.
This is probably the advice I need right now as regards building my brand; I need to calm down and trust God more. Moving at God's pace, staying in his will for me and trusting that anything in his control will never go out of control.
Thank you reading this blog post and share with me in the comment section, what advice would you give your younger self?
Until my next Blog Post, Stay happy!!!
